I don't think I have seen this clip before. Senator John F. Kennedy's helicopter lands on the front lawn at the Ambassador Hotel, before he is president, possibly during the Democratic National Convention in 1960. (The Ames Brothers are featured on the marquee at the Cocoanut Grove, the hotel's legendary nightclub.) The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Film Archive posted the short clip and credits it to the collection of James D. Telfer, a cameraman for Warner Bros. "whose career spanned more than 40 years." Telfer's papers reside in the academy's Margaret Herrick Library.
