On her Twitter feed, Nikki Finke has been posting in the past hour or two on what sounds like the beginning of a final break from Jay Penske, the investor who bought her Deadline.com site in 2009. Finke first posted this afternoon: "With no advance warning, he pulled the Deadline news feed from my Twitter account." Next she said that she was developing her own NikkiFinke.com and would be free soon from Penske's ownership. Finke said back in September that "One of the most noble things Jay Penske could ever do would be to give me back Deadline."
Penske makes it official: With no advance warning, he pulled the Deadline news feed from my Twitter account. I have "too many followers".

All that's left is for the lawyers to disentangle me from Penske. I have no idea why he has fought so hard to keep me. I'll be free soon.
