The LAFD sent a massive presence to a fire that broke out this morning in a unit on the 11th floor of the Brentwood Plaza residential tower at Wilshire Boulevard and Barrington Avenue. Smoke and flames were visible from the west side of the building, as you can see in the grab from KTLA.com and on other media sites across the web. Firefighters appear to have the incident in hand, but they put out the word that some residents on higher floors did not heed advice to leave, which is kind of scary in itself. Water and smoke damage could mean quite a bit of disruption to residents there for awhile. Reports say three people were taken to hospitals.
