Obama's arrival on Tuesday will be a rush hour event

Thumbnail image for clooney-obama.jpgThere are a few more details now about President Obama's trip to the Los Angeles area on Tuesday to appear on the Jay Leno show. According to the White House schedule, Air Force One will arrive from Phoenix and land at LAX about 3:30 p.m. The president will be staying overnight. Of course they don't officially announce where he stays, so we don't know yet where the traffic impacts will occur. He could helicopter over to Burbank for the NBC gig with Leno — or not. If the plans become obvious, as they often do, we will pass it along. Obama usually stays at a hotel in Beverly Hills, but you never know. On his last few campaign trips to SoCal, the disruption has been kept to a minimum, so maybe the feds, CHP and LAPD are getting this down to a science. Optimistic Obamajam potential: moderate.

On Wednesday the president is scheduled to fly to Camp Pendleton to visit with military families and deliver remarks to troops, then make an mid-afternoon departure from LAX.
