Editor's note

I send along this note from contributor Adrienne Crew

At the request of contributor Adrienne Crew, I have unpublished a post she wrote for our Native Intelligence blog that mentioned the death of author Amy Wallace. Some of Wallace's friends construed the post as an obituary, and they felt its playful tone was disrespectful. The short post was not intended as an obit that reported on or summed up Wallace's work. It was more about other writers Crew knows who share the same name. Nonetheless, she asked me to take the post down, so I have.

"I am sorry that it offended readers," Adrienne writes. "I share my condolences with Amy Wallace's family and friends. I did not intend the piece to be an obit and that I chose the wrong headline and confused people's expectations. I am sorry for that."

Adrienne had linked originally to a nice memorial dedicated to Wallace by Feral House. I want to leave that link up so there it is. Wallace co-wrote the Feral House publication "The Intimate Sex Lives of Famous People" with her brother David Wallechinsky and late father Irving Wallace.

Yes, we know if someone wants to read the newly unpublished post they can probably hunt it down online. That's fine, but I have taken it down from the LA Observed archive.
