The Dodgers won again Wednesday night in Toronto, but it's how they did it that is something to talk about. They trailed by a run going into the 9th inning, but instead of making the last out, Andre Ethier tied up the game with a clutch single off the Blue Jays' closer. Toronto didn't score, so the game went into the tenth inning. The Dodgers erupted for five runs, with home runs by Mark Ellis and Yasiel Puig, and won 8-3. The Dodgers won the previous games in the Toronto series 10-9 and 14-5, so they ate up Blue Jay pitching. But it's more than that. The Dodgers are 23-5 since they were in last place on June 21, and LA has now won 10 road games in a row — that's the team's best road streak since they played in Brooklyn. The Dodgers are in first place by a game a half over Arizona.
The Dodgers come home to open a series against the Reds tonight as the hottest team in baseball for more than a month. ESPN LA's Mark Saxon: They can't be this good, can they?
