Madeleine Brand pinch-sat in the Warren Olney chair for a second time tonight on KCRW's 7 p.m. news show, Which Way, LA? The main stories were about the hot real estate market in Los Angeles and the new Sofia Coppola movie based on the Bling Ring thieves in the Valley. I have no inside information from either station, but just observing the breakfast table it looks as if Brand — who left as host of KPCC's highest-rated show last year after her bosses popped the A Martinez experiment on her — is buttering her bread with KCRW margarine: she also had guest-hosted for Olney last week on WWLA. Meanwhile, after leaving as host of "Marketplace Money," Tess Vigeland has done fill-in stints at KPCC and at KCRW, and now seems to be sitting at the Pasadena table.
