Clippers eliminate themselves, season is over

clippers-espn-screen-crop.jpgAfter winning the first two games of their NBA playoff series, the Clippers dropped four straight — including an immature loss tonight that ended their NBA season. The Memphis Grizzlies won 118-105 with the Clippers taking a bunch of bad late fouls, committing goaltending repeatedly and just generally fumbling. Chris Paul picked up two technical fouls and was ejected with about three minutes left. Blake Griffin had already been hit with a technical and a pair of fouls for wrestling with the Grizzlies' Zach Randolph (who also was ejected near the end.) In all, the Clippers were dinged for five technicals and a flagrant foul. Not the sign of a calm, collected championship team. Matt Barnes led the Clippers with 30 points off the bench.

Memphis goes on to play Oklahoma City in the next round.
