Deserts

They're having a quake swarm in the desert *

quake-map-31113.jpg.pngAn earthquake measured at 4.7 rocked the area around Anza-Borrego State Park this morning, accompanied by a whole bunch of lesser magnitude quakes in the vicinity of Anza and Ocotillo Wells. On the map here from the Southern California Earthquake Data Center, those in the last hour are in red. Blue were mostly earlier this morning. Quakes even as high as 4.7 magnitude are classified as light quakes, though people feel them.

* Update: USGS for a while reported there were two 4.7 quakes, but has revised the magnitudes to 3.0 and 4.7.
