The shopping center at Beverly and La Cienega boulevards was evacuated early this afternoon after a man reported finding a suspicious briefcase in his car. The case was removed and detonated, and the center reopened about 5 p.m., according to media reports. Apparently the original clearing out of the mall was kind of chaotic.
