Photog hit by car, killed after snapping Bieber's Ferrari *

lapd-car-paparazzo.jpgA man identified in the media as a celebrity photographer had finished taking pictures of a CHP stop involving Justin Bieber's car when he was struck Tuesday evening while attempting to run across Sepulveda Boulevard near Getty Center Drive. He died at nearby UCLA hospital. The photographer's name has not been released. KTLA reported he was a paparazzo and that friends at the scene said he was from New Mexico.

Bieber was not in his car when it was stopped, a CHP officer told reporters. Sepulveda remained closed to traffic for several hours while officers investigated the accident.

You'll remember that Bieber had previously complained about being harassed by paparazzi while driving in the Ferrari. Authorities had charged photographer Paul Raef under a 2010 anti-paparazzi law, but the law was invalidated by an LA judge in November.

* Morning update: TMZ says the photographer is Chris Guerra, a paparazzo who for several months had worked exclusively on Bieber.
