Early look at this weekend's 'Off-Ramp' on KPCC: Huell, Art Laboe and more

Thumbnail image for huell-rabe.jpg"Off-Ramp" host John Rabe called and talked to me this afternoon for a piece he's doing on the end of Huell Howser's television career. Our conversation will air just after a reprise of the segment Rabe did spending a day out and around in Los Angeles with Howser last year. The show airs Saturday at noon on KPCC and again on Sunday night from 7 to 8 p.m. Here's a link to some audio from my part of the thing. This weekend's show will also have a feature on SoCal radio legend Art Laboe, and on the last big tennis tournament in Los Angeles leaving for Bogota, Colombia.

Also on KPCC's website: The world's tallest thermometer, beside I-15 in Baker, is broken. Has been for three years. But really, it's the whole Mojave desert town of Baker.
