Today's oddly timed and poorly choreographed reveal by Microsoft of a new tablet computer took place at the Milk Studios in Hollywood. The Wall Street Journal's Digits blog posted a photo of tech journalists lined up down the block outside. Many others couldn't come because of the unusual timing — 3:30 p.m. LA time — and the location in Los Angeles, far from Silicon Valley, San Francisco's tech reporters or Microsoft's base in Redmond, Washington. Oh, and the event started late too. Coverage on the east coast is likely to be curtailed by Microsoft's staging. Mark Lacter has the news at LA Biz Observed.
