The LA Kings signed their star goalie, Jonathan Quick, to a whopping ten-year contract extension.

Richard Di Giovanni, a 39-year-old Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy who was shot in the line of duty in 2009, was arrested after police found him in a parked car with a 15-year-old girl at 2 a.m. in the city of San Fernando. Daily News

The City Council approved a controversial Sherman Oaks synagogue expansion, "prompting opponents to accuse city officials of a backroom deal to sign off on the building." DN

Mayoral candidates Wendy Greuel and Eric Garcetti said they would not take campaign contributions from Walmart.

The couple found dead in the Beverly Hilton last weekend had been living in the hotel for at least six months and both committed suicide, authorities said. They were identified as Robert Egan, 69, and Barbra Egan, 56. CNS
