Metro board approves subway's environmental report, station at LACMA

westside-subway-logo.jpgThe Metro board of directors today certified the Westside Subway Extension’s Final Environmental Impact Statement/Report, approving the route and station locations for the first phase out to La Cienega Boulevard. The Beverly Hills route and station location
were dodged for now, pending a public hearing. The Fairfax station will include the disputed entrance across the street from LACMA at the corner of Orange Grove Avenue. The board vote was 11 to 1, with county Supervisor Mike Antonovich voting no and Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas abstaining. Metro's The Source
