'SoCal Connected' staff done for the season *

This past weekend's SoCal Connected on KCET featured this story on the political pressures in the city of El Segundo over Chevron, plus a story on crowd funding for entrepreneurs. The episode airs one more time Monday night at 10 p.m. Sounds like there are some future shows still in the can, but I'm told this past work week was the last of the season for many 'Connected' staffers. They now go out into the great career unknown that is television (and especially non-PBS public television) and hope the show gets another season. "We are ending early - the earliest ever I think," says a KCET person. "No word if there will be another season. Hope we can return in the fall, but who knows."

Golden Mikes and Emmys are great, but it takes money to put on a news show.

* KCET spokeswoman emails: "We have every intention of airing a new season of 'SoCal Connected' and we are confident about its future," says Ariel Carpenter.
