The first race for district attorney without an incumbent in 50 years features Carmen Trutanich and five deputies in the DA's office, and a potential lawsuit over Trutanich's demand to be on the ballot as "chief prosecutor. LAT
Plus: Los Angeles City Councilmembers Mitch Englander, Jose Huizar, and Bill Rosendahl endorsed Trutanich for DA.

Media and media people

Sheriff's deputies and other staffers say their work computers have been blocked from reading Celeste Fremon's Witness LA website, which investigates the department and the jails. Her logs show the traffic from LASD work stations dropped off a cliff on Feb. 22. WLA
