  • Staffers at the Los Angeles Times are expecting a round of layoffs this week, the next shoe to drop in the recent combining of three weekly sections into a new Saturday section. We'll keep you posted on the moves in the newsroom.
  • Breitbart.com's leadership will now be Steve Bannon as executive chairman, Laurence Solov as CEO, Joel Pollak as editor-in-chief and Alex Marlow as managing editor. Politico
  • Budget cuts and a dysfunctional communications system have led to missed calls and slower response by the LAFD, says the LA Times.
  • DA candidate Alan Jackson will file a lawsuit over Carmen Trutanich's claim of "chief prosecutor" as his ballot title in the race.
