Video: When Mayor Riordan was looking for a job

After his eight years as mayor of Los Angeles, Richard Riordan and his aides made a humorous video spoofing his job search. He shows up at the Lakers training gym going up against Rick Fox, at the LAPD asking then-Chief Bernard Parks for a detective job, at the LAUSD squatting in the superintendent's office, driving a DASH bus and throwing the wrong switch in a DWP control room.

The video features City Councilman Bill Rosendahl in his old job as the public affairs host on Adelphia Cable, newspaper reporters Jim Newton, Rick Orlov, Jill Stewart and Patt Morrison, and Channel 5 legend Stan Chambers — all circa 2001. The video is on former Riordan aide (and current Villaraigosa deputy) Matt Szabo's YouTube channel, posted in 2010. A reader sent it to me this afternoon.
