Drago to close Santa Monica restaurant

drago+logo.jpgCelestino Drago has decided not to renew the lease for Drago on Wilshire Boulevard. "The lease expired and I was thinking of doing some big remodeling, but it wasn’t making a lot of sense,” he told the Daily Dish. "It was kind of a tough decision because it’s like my baby. The restaurant did a lot for my career. But I’ve got my hands full with so much." His other restaurants around town will keep going: Celestino, Drago Centro, Dolce Forno, Enoteca Drago and Il Pastaio. Drago has been in Santa Monica about twenty years.
