Historic newspaper used to cover a window in Torrance

Ever see the the famous final front page of the Los Angeles Herald Examiner from 1989, with the poignant banner headline "So Long, L.A.!?" It hangs on the wall in Philippe's and I think some other places around town. Imagine Annie Chuck's surprise, then, to discover a storefront in Old Town Torrance papered over with what looks to be the entire last published edition of the Her Ex from 22 years ago. Somebody saved the paper all this time, then put it to use as the wrapping of a new pizzeria. At least it's not wrapping fish or at the bottom of a bird cage, I guess. Many currently familiar bylines in that last edition, among them film critics Peter Rainer and Andy Klein, the late Alan Rich, Rick DuBrow, Todd Everett and others.
