Time to break up Caltech

caltech-water-polo.jpgRemember earlier this year when the Caltech basketball team beat Occidental to snap a 310-game losing streak, greeted by an emotional outpouring of gymnasium love? (Tweet of the night: "Well, it had to end sometime.") Well, the geek-athletes of Pasadena have done it again. This time it's the Caltech water polo team, which stopped a nine-year losing string by beating Connecticut College — the Beavers' first win in the water since Oct. 5, 2002.

Good week: Earlier this week, Caltech was ranked as the world's top research university by London's Times Higher Education magazine.
