LAT in dispute with photog David Strick over copyright

The Los Angeles Times began in 2008 to run images by longtime Hollywood photographer David Strick in a feature they billed as “David Strick’s Hollywood Backlot.” The relationship soured after a couple of years, and The Wrap says that Strick is now suing the Times and alleging the paper and other Tribune outlets violated copyright more than 500 times by continuing to use his pictures. The Times disagrees, and is trying to push the case toward arbitration. Otherwise a federal trial could start as soon as Aug. 23, per the story.
