LAO on KCRW

LA Observed on KCRW: Season of the map

My weekly column this evening on KCRW centered on the redrawing of political lines in California, mostly on the new districts that will see Reps. Henry Waxman, Howard Berman and Janice Hahn seek reelection outside their traditional home turf. Granted, that's if someone who's only been a congresswoman for a few weeks can have a traditional turf. The segment aired at 6:44 p.m. You can listen online at KCRW.com or download it from iTunes.

Noted: A survey for Rep. Brad Sherman's campaign delivered Monday by Washington pollster Diane Feldman found Sherman leading Berman about 2-to-1 in a head-to-head race in the new 30th district they could share in the San Fernando Valley. Sherman represents about half of the district now, Berman far less. "Despite his prominence in Washington, Berman has a far lower profile in his district than Sherman has in his," Feldman writes.
