Rarity tonight: L.A. vs. L.A. on the field

The Dodgers and Angels have played each other many times in inter-league play. But tonight's game in Anaheim is the first time they will face each other in a game that counts while both teams wear L.A. on their caps, says City News Service in a story by Steve Herbert. As a promotion, the Angels will be wearing uniforms from their days as the Los Angeles Angels, the name they played under from the team's inception in 1961 through 1965. In '61 they played at Wrigley Field at 41st and Avalon. In 1962 the Angels became tenants at Dodger Stadium.
