She was the mother of political writer and former U.S. Senate candidate Mickey Kaus and the widow of the late California Supreme Court Associate Justice Otto Kaus. She died last Tuesday of cancer, just diagnosed in June, according to her son. She blogged briefly about issues in Beverly Hills, and appeared in Mickey's Senate campaign video last year.
