Carmageddon: one day down, and most of the bridge

As the traffic experts say, it doesn't take many drivers to change their ways for congestion to go away. The worst of Saturday has now gone by with hardly any traffic of note. Instead, it's been lighter than a typical Saturday, and just about everywhere — freeways and city streets. Up on the 405, demo work on the Mulholland Bridge has been sailing along too. Here's a 12:30 shot showing most of the demolition already done. They still have to take down the pillars at either end, but the intact half of the bridge to the right in the frame isn't going anywhere this weekend. Photo from ZevWeb.
