L.A. Public Media, LA>Forward suspend operation

Radio Bilingüe announced today that it is halting Los Angeles Public Media and LA>Forward "for the foreseeable future." Those were the progras funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting "as an effort to create a new paradigm for public media (radio, video, online, mobile) in Southern California, one that would give voice to Latinos, African-Americans and Asian-Americans who are under-served by, and under-represented in, public media." Radio Bilingüe has been unable to get a radio broadcast outlet in Los Angeles and says that federal funding cuts to CPB mean the agency can't assure support in the coming years. The LA>Forward archives will remain on the web.
