Gjelina won't put dressing on the side, even if 8 months pregnant

victoria-beckham-2011.jpgGjelina's no substitution policy has always been ridiculously amateurish — notice how making small changes is no problem at almost all other top restaurants in L.A. — but this time the Venice hot spot did the Menu Nazi act on Victoria Beckham. With friend and TV chef Gordan Ramsay sitting at her table, observing. Beckham, eight months pregnant, simply asked that the smoked trout salad come without the fussy grapefruit, avocado, red onion and lemon dressing. The server refused. "The lady's pregnant!" Ramsay says at the Daily Dish. "It was a sour note. I don't think customers should be treated that way." Gjelina packs them in on Abbot Kinney, but even when they're not busy it's the kind of place where diners can't hold the onions or get non-fat milk with their coffee.
