Daily News loses city editor...to Kuwait

John Miller and his wife are moving to Kuwait to teach, per today's memo from Executive Editor Carolina Garcia. It's after the jump.

All,

John Miller is leaving us in August. He and his wife are beginning a whole new chapter in their lives and it sounds pretty exciting.

They will be teaching at an international K-12 school in Kuwait. He will teach high school English and hopes to coach tennis and cross country. He and his family will live in Kuwait at least two years. From there they hope to travel the globe as teachers in the Middle East, Asia and elsewhere in the world.

John has given us plenty of notice to find a replacement and I expect we’ll have some outstanding candidates, both from within and from the outside. His departure gives us an opportunity to examine how we do things and I’m open to any and all suggestions on how we might approach news gathering for print and online.

Thanks,

Carolina Garcia
Executive Editor
