A city inspector from the Department of Building and Safety showed up at the KCET studios on Sunset Boulevard on Wednesday and ordered a stop to demolition work until officials could figure out which parts of the property are deemed historic. Councilman Tom LaBonge also called for an review before work proceeds. KCET says it was only removing some brick pavers bearing the names of donors that were added after the studio was designated a historic cultural landmark. The studio has been sold to the Church of Scientology.
