With light voting expected all around, the Los Angeles results should start coming relatively briskly after the polls close at 8 p.m. But of course, there's often some snag. Vote-by-mail ballots received before today will get counted and posted first. The last races to be settled will be the close ones, obviously. Candidates need a majority of 50 percent plus one vote to win without a runoff.
Los Angeles city results: Including City Council, school board, college trustees and ballot measures. In theory posted every 30 minutes or so.
County results: Including the city of Bell.

Ruben Gonzalez, the consultant who took responsibility for sending out a a mailer that claimed endorsements from 30 dead people for Councilman Bernard Parks, has resigned as a VP at Englander, Knabe & Allen, says Gene Maddaus at The Informer. Gonzalez was deputy city controller when Laura Chick held the big job.
