Doug Dowie, the former Fleishman-Hillard PR executive in Los Angeles now serving a sentence in federal prison in Taft, lost an appeal that sought to require his former employer to pick up some of his legal bills. The Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Friday affirmed a lower-court ruling that denied the claim.
