City fires housing chief Rudolf Montiel

The city housing authority board voted tonight to fire Rudolf Montiel, with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's blessing. Montiel has run the agency since 2004. Six months ago he came under fire when the housing authority tried to evict nine tenants who had protested outside Montiel's Rancho Cucamonga home.
