Blogdowntown suspends print weekly

bdownown-print-feb32011.jpgBlogdowntown's weekly print edition hit the streets last August, and it stopped regular publication in February. The online site continues for now, but founder and editor Eric Richardson sounds unsure what the future holds. "I wish I had better answers in terms of what comes next, but right now all I can say is that definitely we saw that newsprint still works and the issues we ran into were really just ones of ad sales and
frequency," he told me. "For us, being weekly pushed the focus too much toward news and away from strong calendar and lifestyle, which was always what I set out believing print needed to be about."
