Salma Hayek is now mostly an ex-Angeleno, living with her French fashion mogul husband and their child in Paris. She tells the New York Times fashion magazine T that she cooks every night — "I am most definitely a housewife" — but she also wears designer clothes and sits front-row at the fashion shows. She's got some Hollywood projects in the works: a production deal with ABC to make the small screen version of "Wicked" and maybe an animated film of Kahlil Gibran's best seller "The Prophet." But mostly it's the life of an observed woman, even at home.
Hayek has devoted herself with extreme focus to what amounts to several careers: Mexican soap star, Hollywood movie star, producer, Oscar nominee, red-carpet glamazon, outspoken activist. Yet by far the most significant roles in her life are not even on that list: the role of wife to François-Henri Pinault, C.E.O. of the luxury conglomerate PPR, and mother to their 3-year-old daughter, Valentina....Essentially, Hayek has married the world’s best wardrobe. It’s safe to say that it’s been some time since she woke up and thought, I have nothing to wear. Still, dressing for the man who owns that wardrobe presents some problems: “I want to come down the stairs and have him go, ‘Wow,’ and not, ‘Oh yeah, I saw that in the office.’ Or: ‘It looked better on the model.’ ”
There's a gauzy video online with the story.
