Venice-based Kausfiles blogger and former U.S. Senate candidate Mickey Kaus has a new web home. He's joining Tucker Carlson's mildly righty site The Daily Caller, according to Fishbowl DC. Says Carlson: "Mickey Kaus has helped define political writing online. He’s also one of the funniest people blogging in English. Even when I disagree with him – which is regularly – I can’t stop reading. We’re thrilled to have him.” Says Kaus: “The Daily Caller is serious but with a sense of perspective. They cover whatever the day’s fuss is about but they obviously appreciate the fun of politics. It’s not a grim chase after search engine-driven Web hits. I’m proud to join them." Kaus left the safe harbor of Slate when he ran for office last year.
