Sylvia Bursztyn created Sunday crossword puzzles for the Los Angeles Times for 30 years. She was found dead of natural causes in her Granada Hills home on Dec. 30, according to the Times. Her passing was only reported this weekend. Bursztyn collaborated with Barry Tunick on the Times' crossword from April 1980 until his death in 2007, then she continued on her own. From the LAT:
Their Puzzler first appeared in the Book Review, then moved to the Sunday magazine and finally landed in Sunday Calendar. Her last puzzle will appear this Sunday.
