McCourt case ruling now final

Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon has certified as final his December ruling that threw out a marital property agreement between Frank and Jamie McCourt. Frank is expected to ask for a new trial at a hearing on Jan. 25, but Gordon's ruling gives Jamie substantial ammunition to argue that she remains co-owner of the Dodgers. Stay tuned.

Add Jamie: This morning at a Los Angeles Magazine issues breakfast, McCourt shared the same room as Roz Wyman, who as a City Council member in the 1950s played a key role in bringing the Dodgers to Los Angeles from Brooklyn. The pair did not appear to meet, but when Wyman left McCourt's eyes followed her to the door. Breakfast speaker Alejandro Mayorkas, head of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Obama Administration, acknowledged Wyman (a Democratic Party power for decades) in his remarks. Guests included Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, developer Wayne Ratkovich, AEG exec Michael Roth, special assistant city attorney Jane Usher, Wall Street Journal reporter Miriam Jordan, LAT columnist Patt Morrison, author Gina Nahai, blogger Mickey Kaus and about 50 others.
