KTLA's Mark Kriski still hospitalized

Channel 5 reporter Eric Spillman blogs that Kriski, the morning guy at KTLA, is once again hoping to be released from the hospital soon.

Mark has been hospitalized for most of the last two months. First, he had a severe bout of pneumonia. Then, after he was sent home for a few days, he came down with another infection that brought him right back to the ICU. Finally, his doctors decided he needed surgery.

So now he's recovering from that, too.

It has been a slow process.

He told me today that he will likely be released from the hospital later this week. Then he needs to spend a few weeks at home, taking it easy, and trying to build up his strength. Ã…fter that, he can think about coming back to work.

"This thing really beat the hell out me," he said. "But the doctors told me I'm young enough to bounce back."
