Havrilesky does the memoir

heather-havrilesky-laist.jpgLos Angeles writer Heather Havrilesky, staff critic on film and TV at Rupert Murtdoch's forthcoming iPad news site, has a new memoir out, "Disaster Preparedness." She tells LAist "the book is mostly about my childhood and young adulthood. I would've written it a decade ago, but I was too unfocused to figure it out." She reads at Vroman's in Pasadena tonight at 7 p.m. Havrilesky, the former TV critic for Salon, is also working on a novel and now lives near "the border of Montrose and La Crescenta, aka The Balcony of Southern California."
