The L.A. Press Club is creating a Public Service in Journalism award and giving the first one to Jeff Gottlieb and Ruben Vives, the lead reporters in last year's Los Angeles Times stories on corruption in the city of Bell. The award cites "reporting that results in improving the civic life of a city or region in California." Gottlieb and Vives will get the award at the Press Club's dinner on June 26.
