Storm preparations for tonight

It's just going to be some wild wind with the rain as the front comes over, but the city has activated the Emergency Operations Center and gone to level 2 until morning, Council President Eric Garcetti says. He's calling it an expected "intense wind event." In Santa Monica, the California Incline will be closed from 10 pm until at least 7 a.m., according to Mayor Richard Bloom. And Gov. Schwarzenegger has declared a state of emergency in Orange County due to the weather conditions.

There's also a sinkhole on Vanowen Street between Mason Avenue and Hartland in the West Valley.
