  • A three-judge panel of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, including liberal judge Stephen Reinhardt, meets today on live TV (C-SPAN, 10 a.m.) to hear arguments in the Proposition 8 gay marriage appeal. LAT, Sacto Bee, Mercury
  • Meg Whitman's campaign consultants won't take part in the traditional post-election debriefing sponsored by the Institute of Governmental Studies at Berkeley. Calbuzz

  • To cover a projected shortfall of nearly $88 million this year, City Administrative Officer Miguel Santana on Friday said the city will need to reduce its workforce by another 230 positions. DN
