Channel 4 begins the news with a little comedy

Anchor Chuck Henry opened tonight's 11 o'clock news with an unusual first item. Before doing the lede story, he informed viewers that an errant fire alarm was going off in the studio. And sure enough, we could hear the siren's whoops. Henry looked like he was trying not to laugh as he said the alarm would be fixed shortly. By the time the first story was over (Patrick Healy covering the mud in Highland) the alarm had indeed been fixed.

KNBC tweets it: "There's a faulty fire alarm going off on the NBCLA news set as we present the 11 p.m. news. Don't fret there's no fire."
