Cooley to meet the media *

Attorney general candidate Steve Cooley has scheduled a 10:30 a.m. presser with Sheriff Lee Baca and City Attorney Carmen Trutanich in front of the sheriff's department offices in Monterey Park. With 58% of the state's precincts counted, Cooley was leading with 46.5% to Kamala Harris' 45.1%. If Cooley wins, the Board of Supervisors can try to agree on appointing a district attorney to fill out Cooley's term, or let the voters decide in a special election.

Update: Cooley's campaign canceled the press conference in a 3:20 a.m. email, pending more results.
