The website formerly known as LA Stage Blog — itself an outgrowth of LA Stage magazine — is now bigger, better and design-ier. Former Los Angeles Times critic Don Shirley will write weekly, and this week's column chides the Center Theatre Group over its upcoming schedule, saying "it’s hard to see how any of these productions will fulfill those goals to 'reflect our own community' and to present 'stories inspired on our own streets.'" Former Variety critic and current KPFK “Arts in Review” host Julio Martinez will do a column of breaking news, gossip and theatre history. Steve Julian, the news host during "Morning Edition" on KPCC, is a regular contributor and has a piece up now interviewing former CTG head Gordon Davidson. Here's the site's story on itself. The non-profit LA Stage Alliance is the group behind LA Stage Times.
