First rule of corrections: get it right

From today's Los Angeles Times corrections page:

"The Madeleine Brand Show": An article in the Sept. 20 Calendar section about the debut of "The Madeleine Brand Show" on KCRW-FM said that Rick Bayless was among the chefs who had been lined up for the program's "Five-Minute Meal" segment. Bayless has not been scheduled for an appearance.

Brand's show debuted on KPCC. Different NPR station.

Add LAT: Today's print paper was wrapped again in one of those NBC ads meant to resemble a Times front page. This one was for "Law & Order: Los Angeles," which also gets a nice feature in the Calendar section about tonight's debut. I guess readers are getting used to the Times being the only big paper in the country to hawk its front page brand in this way; the only angry email I received is after the jump. (The Chicago Tribune also wrapped its front page with the ad today, I'm told.)

That's it. I'm done. It does more than state the obvious to say the paper's been going downhill for some time now for all sorts of reasons, one of the latest being no one could stay up past 9:30 p.m. on a Saturday night a week ago to publish UCLA results from the ROSE BOWL.

Rhetorically asking if they have no shame at the Times is pointless. THAT was proven beyond measure this morning by the NBC ad on the front page. I know it isn't elegant to put it this way, but f--- them. I'm cancelling my subscription, and no amount of wheedling and deal offering from some outsourced yutz named Meepdip will change that.
