Doing without Boyarsky for a while

billbanner-crop.jpgBill Boyarsky's column last week on City Attorney Carmen Trutanich will have to be the one we remember for a few months. Bill's hard at work on a future book and needs to pull in from his writing here, for Truthdig and the Jewish Journal. We'll miss him while he's gone, and also pull for him in the Southern California Book Awards to be announced Oct. 23. His current book, "Inventing L.A.: The Chandlers and Their Times," is a finalist in the nonfiction category. Bill's latest piece for the Journal, by the way, says the teacher rankings published on the Los Angeles Times website "deserve a careful but skeptical reading." He also filed a post at Truthdig this week warning Democrats not to believe MSNBC's scoffing about "right-wing Republicans as kooks, more laughable than dangerous."
