Both ESPN and the L.A. Times have confirmed with baseball sources that the Dodgers have asked waivers on Manny Ramirez, a preliminary step to trading the outfielder. It doesn't mean he will be dealt, but the Chicago White Sox and possibly the Texas Rangers are in pennant races and are thought to be interested. If the Dodgers don't trade Ramirez, he almost certainly will not be asked back after his contract expires at the end of the season.
